Brief Description: Attached more angles to main spar
I continued with attaching some angle pieces to the main spar. The first angle was the vertical stiffener angle (SNX-W11-09). This clamped on with no problems and was fairly straight forward to pilot drill, then up-drill to the final sized holes.
The next angle, upper stiffener angle (SNX-W11-08), presented a challenge. This angle lies somewhat close to the upper spar cap, leaving very little room to get a clamp positioned between the angle and the spar cap. I don't know how I handled this with the right main spar but for this spar, I modified some C-clamps to allow for the close tight clamping area. What I did was to remove the swivel foot from each clamp, leaving just the threaded rod part of the clamp. I covered the ends with some vinyl caps I had to keep the clamp rods from marring the surface of the angle after tightening the clamps down. This worked well.
SNX-W11-09 drilled and clecoed in place.
Modified C-clamps to allow for clamping in tight spaces.
