I did the modification to both forward root ribs. This requires removing the webbing between the lightening holes and reforming the edge into a flange to maintain the structural integrity of the rib. First, I marked lines on the rib to marked the upper edge of the flange and the edge of the rib webbing that needs to be removed. After cutting out the webbing, I reformed the flange using a homemade flanging tool made from a piece of wood with a slot at the proper depth to create the correct size of the flange.
