I finished most of the riveting today on the right main spar. I have to decide if I want to use rivets or bolts to connect the outboard vertical stiffener angle(SNX-W11-11). The plans gives the option of using rivets or bolts. I'll have to give this some thought.
I had to remove the root rib attach angles to get room to set one rivet. I re-attached the angles and torqued them to 25 in./lbs. This seems to be not very tight but that's the opinion of many people. Eventhough it's not a lot of torque, it is the correct amount. I also attached/rivetted the tip web assembly to the end of the spar.
I will do a complete inspection of the spar when it is done to find all the bad rivets that need to be replaced. A quick glance so far has found about a dozen rivets that are bad.
Onward!
Re-torquing the root rib attach angles to 25 in./lbs.
Just one of the dozen or so rivets that need to be replaced.
