Brief Description: Made part#'s SNX-F14-11L/R & SNX-F14-13L/R
Made four parts today, so I feel like I'm starting to step things up a bit. I discovered that I can get the best edge on cut parts if I leave extra and then file down to final dimension with the vixen file. I tried to trim the side of the angle for parts SNX-F14-13L/R using my fence on the bandsaw set to the proper dimension. I had trouble getting the angle to cut the proper dimension. I would get a nice straight line but it was tapered from one end to the next. I then tried it freehand with the band saw trying to get as close to the final dimension as possible. This worked better but left a somewhat wavy edge. I finally did the last part free-hand but leaving extra material. I was then able to file this edge own to the proper size and got a straight line too. This is how I will proceed from now on.
Some finished parts.
Cutting angle using bandsaw fence. This did not come out well!
Filing edge after free-handing on bandsaw. This method works well.
