Brief Description:  Rudder pedal fitting to axles

Unwrapped front and rear rudder pedals along with their axles. The front pedals easily slipped onto the axles, but the rear pedals would not. Further inspection showed that the weld to the tube that slips onto the axle caused both protrusions into the tube and some distortion of the tube itself lenghtwise. I used my dremel tool with a cylindrical grinding wheel at low speed to grind down the protrusions. In addition, one of the axles had been painted red for identification. I needed to sand that off for the axle to fit. The other axle was basic black and would fit without sanding. However I plan to "polish" and oil the axles to make a low friction low wear system.

I still need to drill the 1/8" oil hole in each rudder pedal per the plans. Also, the MS24665-22 cotter pins from Wicks are too small to use to anchor the axle. The plans specify AN380-4 so I need to check the hardware list.

The axle fit to the fuselage is very tight so I did not attempt to force them into place. After polishing the axles I will recheck and if needed use a dowel and sandpaper or the dremel tool to make for a little easier fit. They don't need to be as loose as the pedals, but I want to be able to pull them out without undo difficultly.
