Scotchbrited L/H fuel tank skin and cleaned real good with MEK. Scuffed the fuel filler flange and the fuel drain fitting. Prepared the stiffeners by cleaning and scuffing them well with scotchbrite. Set up the 1/2 "x 6"x 12" flat steel plate and 1/2" inch boards on work bench and secured them to it. This setup is an alternative to cutting into the workbench to inset the 1/2" plate flush for backriveting. This way, I can not only place it anywhere on the workbench but I can remove it completely ,when not in use, leaving the workbench completely covered with the carpet that is on it without having a bare spot. This should help reduce the chance of scratching the skins, and keeping the bench completely flat.
