The first thing that I notice is the original cut that I made on the trim tab ears was not square. I uses a framers square to straighten everything up. I then proceded to cut the ears off of the elevator. To do this I clamped on a straight edge to make an extended line to get the elevator and the trim tab lined up. Then I clamped on the hinge to get the trim tab in the correct position and traced a line onto the elevator ears. From here I measured over 3/32 and drew a new line and cut the ears off with my tin snips and used a file to finish everything off. So far so good
