I needed to get the fuselage up and off of the tires, as well as getting it accurately leveled (side to side) to facilitate the cowl installation. I designed a simple stand to put underneath the fuselage just aft of the main gear. The stand needs to be stable both fore and aft, as well as side to side.
The stand is made of 2x4 legs and cross-piece, with pine planks for the "feet" and cross-braces. I padded the top of the stand with indoor/outdoor carpet. Susie and Sean assisted in lifting the fuselage and getting the stand in position. The fuselage is getting heavy compared to when I first started working on it.
