Brief Description:  boot cowl install, firewall sealed, begin prop spi

The boot cowl is also fastened to the fuselage in two places on the bottom. The manual calls for using aluminum rivets at the rear aspect of the cowl, but I have again been advised to use screws as the rivets fail over time. In the photo below you can see the 4-screws in place, You can also seen the hole for the transponder antenna in the bottom of the boot cowl.

The boot cowl is also fastened to the top of the firewall with rivets, The firewall is sealed using red RTV. I did that work, then began the installation of the prop spinner.

To install the prop spinner I will have to cut material to allow the prop blades to pass through the base of the spinner unit. Again acting on advice of other builders, I am going to install the prop assembly first, then cut and trim the spinner to closely fit around the blades.

The S7 uses a 1" extension plate between the gearbox prop hub and the propeller hub unit. The photos below show the bushings inserted through the gearbox hub, and the extension unit in place.
