Brief Description: Mount firewall, engine mounts and fit boot cowl
I fitted the firewall to the fuselage. I had several holes to modify to allow clearance for the mounting hardware. I used rat-tailed files to modify the holes. I also built and installed the aluminum pass-through fitting per the manual.
I next began fitting the boot cowling. The cowling had some markings scratched into the gel coat from the factory. I didn't trust them to be accurate enough to trust totally, so I started out by placing the boot cowl on the fuselage as far as it would go, measuring and making my own marks. My marks were slightly different from the factory marks.
I cut to my marks using a sabre-saw and a dremel tool, sanded the surfaces and did several trail fittings, adjusting my marks and easing up on the finished product. Out of time for today.
