Brief Description:  Elevator push-pull tubes and yoke

I worked on assembling the elevator push-pull tube and elevator yoke assembly. The ends of the yoke tubes get aluminum threaded fitting that are riveted in place with Cherry-Q pull rivets. Following the directions I installed the yoke tubes in the fitting in the end of the push-pull tube, then started to install the threaded fittings in the ends of the yoke tubes. Mistake. Although I followed the sequence laid out in the manual, there is no way to get all of the rivets in place on the yoke tubes once they are installed in the push-pull tube. So....

I removed the yoke tubes and worked on match-drilling the fittings and installing the rivets. All went well, except I made a mistake on one of the rivets, which will have to come out and be replaced. The yoke tube diameter is so small that the rivets on opposing sides of the threaded insert fitting interfere with each other until they are pulled. The result is that you have to carefully and slowly pull the second rivet, seating it against the tube wall as you pull it tight.

I have no spare rivets in the correct size, so I'm on hold until I obtain a replacement.
