I assembled one of the two wheel/rotor/extension units, and safety wired the bolts in place per the manual. Getting the safety wire just right down inside the brake rotor proved to be quite difficult. There is little to no clearance between the allen-screws and the side wall of the brake rotor, leaving little room to thread the safety wire through the allen screw head. After about 4 attempts I ended up loosening the bolts as much as needed to allow access to the safety wire holes, threading the safety wire, then re-torquing the bolts with the wire through the bolt head but not twisted.
This job took about 4 times as long as I anticipated, and about 4 times as long as it should have. Yes, building an experimental truly is a educational experience.
