Brief Description:  build wing A-Frame

Sean and I designed and built a rolling stand for the wings. The stand is very similar to the parts A-Frame. The stand is basically a large, solid-core door with a plywood A-Frame in the middle. The outboard edges of the top surface of the door have 2"x 2" cleats to keep the wings from sliding off the edge.

We put full-swiveling casters on the stand to make it easy to move the wings around on the rack. We used in-door/out-door carpet to pad the bearing surfaces of the A-Frame. We used 3/4" webbing and quick release adjustable buckles to make straps to hold the wings against the A-Frame. The wings sit trailing edge down with the bottom surface against the stand.

The stand makes it easy to move the wings around as I reconfigure the shop for different tasks.
