I wired the wingtip navigation lite units, installed them onto the plastic wing-tips, then installed the wingtips onto the wings. Mike assisted with pulling the wires and an extra pair of hands.
I had been warned that the wingtips do not fit all that well, and that they seem to bow up in-between the attaching screws. No one seems to be very satisfied with the fit and finish of the wing-tips, and the problem apparently gets worse once the plane is in the sun and the wingtip plastic expands as it warms.
Well, mine seem to fit about like all the rest.
This evening I installed my LED light strip under the glare shield. The strip is held in place with velcro, and the LEDs are wired in with the other instrument lights. All went as planned. The LEDs are red, and dim as expected with a panel mounted rheostat.
