Today we installed the wings on the fuselage. I am going to do as much work as possible in the shop, then remove the wings for transport to the airport. I needed the wings to be in place to fit the windscreen and some other bits and pieces.
I had Keith and my two sons assisting today. I made a template matching the wing-root of the wings, specifically the main and rear spars. I used this template to pre-fit the "T-Bone" fittings on the main spar carry-through to fit into the main spars. I made the template from a length of 2" wide aluminum bar. I trimmed and filed the T-Bones to match the template, leaving just a little excess material, and then fitted the T-Bones to each main spar as we installed the wings.
We didn't get any photos of the installation process, but attached are a couple of photos of the wings in place on the fuselage.
