Today I worked on fitting the two halves of the engine cowling. I fitted the cowl halves, carefully aligning them to match the spinner bulkhead. I marked the aft edges of the halves for trimming, intending to slowly trim excess material until I achieve an acceptable fit.
I removed about 2/3rds of the material from the aft edges of the cowling halves, re-fitted them into position, re-measured and re-marked them for additional trimming, then trimmed more material away. I went through this process three times, then started sanding the edges match the coutours of the boot cowl.
