Brief Description:  Missed stuff

I've done a bit of work that I have not documented, so this is a catch-all entry for some random items.

I worked on bundling all of the cables behind the instrument panel. I have left a loop of wire and cable for each switch, instrument, avionics lead etc to allow the panel to be tilted out without disconnecting anything. There has been a lot of discussion about the eventual need to access the area behind the panel. Apparently some builders very neatly and precisely install the wires and leads with no loops or surplus length, basically locking the panel in position.

I ordered and received an acrylic windshield from AeroPlastics. The material is tinted a light blue color. This color is most often used in helecopter bubble canopies, and is supposed to be easy on the eyes and good for contrast. I had originally intended to get a light smoke colored windscreen, but after seeing Fred Weaver's light-blue I changed my mind.

I had ordered an ACK 406 MHz ELT from Aircraft Spruce. It was originally supposed to be shipped sometime in October. Then it was delayed to November, then December, then January, and now to sometime in March. I was at the Spruce wharehouse and they had the new AmeriKing 406 unit in stock. It is several hundred dollars higher in price. In talking with the Spruce guys I learned that ACK has a habit of introducing new stuff, then having delivery problems, as well as having on-going parts delivery problems. The AmeriKing won out, so I now have that in-hand ready to install.

I have also done a lot of little detail work, installing tie-wraps, safety wires and some wiring.
