Install the control cables through the fire wall using rubber grommets. First I had to install the F-982 C center cabin cover and the F-982 E cover. The F-982 E cover will have to be fastened as per Drawing 34 after the cables are connected to the carb. Talked to Scott at VANS my concerns about the alternate air kit. He advised not to cut the hole in the filter plate (VA-130 D). He said he did not install the alternate air door because of his concerns that foreign material could be sucked into the carburetor. I have no hole on the VA-130 D filter plate, but leave the alternate air door in the VA-130 A Air box. Scott said this could supply sufficient air to the carb in case the air input is blocked through the filter thus providing some help without the disadvantage of the kit solution.
