Brief Description:  Run Engine for the first time

Dale Matuska came over to help me run the engine for the first time. After spending several days this week on re-checking everything on the firewall forward side and on the instrument panel, I think I am ready. We pulled the airplane out of the hangar while also checking the brakes. They were good; decided not to tie the tail to my car, but used two large rubber chucks that Dale brought over from his hangar. The engine came to life as soon as I turned the key. I used partial throttle and full mixture and immediately readjusted the throttle for 750 RPM. The oil pressure slowly came up to 90 pounds with temperature about 85 degrees. By adjusting Throttle and mixture we got a perfectly smooth running engine. We kept the RPM below 1100 RPM. It went as perfect as I could have hoped for. The sound of the engine was great. Run about 4 minutes then shut down.
