Remove left elevator and remove the lead counter weight. Filed off about 1/16"- 1/8" from the lead weight for clearance. It protruded too far into the gap and rubbed against the horizontal stabilizer skin. The result really looks good and there is plenty weight left for balancing the elevators.The fiberglass skin under one of the horizontal stabilizer tip nutplates was cracked. I fixed the crack with JB Weld . Looks good and it is strong.
