Brief Description: Glove compartment and Engine Information System
Decided to use the Glove Compartment after all. The EIS display is already cut and if I use the piano hinge on the outside of the panel plane it will look really good. The hard part was to position and fit the Glove Compartment door inside the panel. This was cut by the modular panel people to have a flush fit. I used a double sticky tape to fit and hold everything in position. First I fitted, counter sunkand installed the bottom piano hinge. Than using the double sticky tape I fitted the door and the upper half of the piano hinge the best I could. When everything looked good I drilled the upper half of the piano hinge to the door (obviously the pin was installed at this point in the piano hinge). Next I counter sunk the rivet holes. At this point I disassembled the panel and the box and painted everything using the same color I used on the left panel. After the paint dried riveted the upper half of the piano hinge to the door and reassemled the panel and the glove compartment. Test fitted the EIS display. I will have to figure out some way to make a latch for the door.
