Brief Description:  Start working on the main gear leg fairing

Check gear leg fairings for twist. Placed the fairings on a flat surface and used a square at both ends to check for twist. Both fairing looks good. With the fairing in a no twist position, placed two spring clamps on the trailing edge of the fairing and wrapped a blue tape around the trailing edge and then split the tape at the trailing edge with a blade. This way I will know the no twist position (the tape edges will not line up). Next I copied the trim template from Drawing C3 to drafting paper to save the original drawing. I cut out the trim template and positioned it over the fairing using the molded-in scribe lines and the leading edge parting line as a reference. Taped the template over the fairing and traced the root end, trailing edge and tip end trim lines onto the fairing. Marked tick-marks on the tip and root end at the gear leg centerline. Once the paper template is removed these tick marks are connected along the fairing on both sides (this will help position the fairing on the gear leg). I marked the location of the hose clamp cutout on the fairing as per drawing.
