I decided to recheck the fit of both the upper and lower cowlings. Installed the cowling without the bulk heads then installed the rear bulk head with the offset called out in the plans. The gap between the bulk head and the cowling looks good. To complete the attachment of the cowling to the fuselage I made two brackets (this is in addition to the piano hinges, see pictures). This was a good time to enlarge the four nut plate holes pre drilled at an earlier time. Tomorrow I will install the nut plates. This process took a longer time than I thought and it is not yet finished, I have to check this again after the carburetor is installed.
