Brief Description:  Riveted Flaps

Drilled four 3/32" holes 8mm from edges on drill press
Located control plates to inner ribs using 1/4" bolts, washers and nuts.
Match drilled ribs to control plates. Clecoed
Opened up the holes to 5/32"
Riveted plates to ribs
Clecoed inner ribs to flaps
Pulled all A5 rivets to close out the flaps except for the hinge line. I'm assuming it will be easier to locate and drill the wing-side hinge lines without hinges being attached to flaps.

This may be last entry for a while. I am moving (again) in a few weeks so shop will be getting packed up. Not moving far and not changing jobs so the transition should be pretty quick.

I am also considering purchasing kits to finish the build as scratch building at this rate will take many more yeas to complete. This would be ok if I were already flying and was just building for a hobby but since I'm building as a means to have an airplane that gets me flying again I really need to do the cost/time/age calculations to determine what makes the most sense.

Two other factors are my daughters. One just graduated and is going to college this fall, the other will be a sophomore in high school. The realization that they will all too soon be leaving home makes me want to spend as much of these next few years as possible participating in their lives. Airplanes and the aviation community are a great source of fun, satisfaction and happiness but ultimately my immediate family and friends are my highest priority and rdeserve my greatest attention.
