Brief Description:  Re-bend Aileron Web Flange

After a few email exchanges I finally met up with fellow CH650 builder Marcus Wegmeyer from Gaylord, MI who was "down state" for some family activities. We met for lunch then came back to my residence to see the man cave and talk projects. He was starting a scratch build of a 650 but then found a really good deal on a 601XL kit which was delivered to him by the previous owner on his way to Airventure. After spending a couple of hours talking about our projects in the larger context of lifespans and life's priorities I was inspired set aside a little time and work on my project.

My post back on 5/6/12 (OMG, has it been that long!) notes that the front web of my right aileron skin was about 2mm too tall/wide. To correct this I opened up the trailing edge bend a sufficient amount to allow acces to the top web flange bend which I was able to pound relatively flat with a rubber mallet. After re-marking the bend locations I reformed the top flange bend on the bending brake so that the web is now much closer to the specified 94mm. The ribs now fit with no slop and the holes previously drilled still line up so I will not have to re-fab those two ribs.

Now just need to add the 13mm of wash out, match drill, prime and rivet to complete the right aileron. Hopefully this will happen before weeks or months slip past.
