My Craftsman 4" x 36" bench sander does a nice job on flat and beveled surfaces. However, I needed a tool to create consistent, straight radii for crimp notches in form blocks. The only tool that seemed to fit this role was the Ridgid EB4424 oscillating belt/spindle sander which is also a great tool to have for other projects besides just form blocks; at least this is how I rationalized the purchase. First use on the rudder nose rib form block worked great.
