Brief Description:  Drilled Flap Ribs

Started the day by watching the sunrise over our lake while drinking coffee and reading Kitplanes magazine. With thie inspiration I went to the shop to continue work on the flaps. The work was spread over the entire day until about 10:30 this evening due to multiple interuptions and prior commitments.

The first rib I attempted to drill along the front flange moved on me so I had to fab up a new one since the hole was too far off to open up to the final size. New rib only took about 15 minutes to layout, cut and bend.

Inserted all the ribs and lined up the front flange centerline with the pre-drilled holes. After botching my first drilling attempt I elected to use a fine Sharpie to mark through the skin holes onto the rib flange, pull the rib out, center punch on the marks, drill to 3/32" then re-insert and cleco in position on the skin.

With the front flange alignment established it was just a matter of lining up the the top and botom flange centerlines under the pre-drilled skin holes. Drilled all holes to 3/32" per the Assembly Guide then opened them up to 5/32".

Finished the evening with some shop cleanup.
