Brief Description:  Alignment of H/Stab & V/Stab Final Drilling & Bolt

As per plans, aligned and adjusted horizontal stabiliser, hours of careful measuring for the perfect fit, it was time to drill a hole.Final fit was great, I measured from the air inlet ducts at the front of fuselage,to a common rivet on either side of the stab, measured dead even. incidence worked out
at 0 degrees, with the drill bit placed under the rear spar as per plans, and the spacers under the forward spar. Did the vertical stabiliser as well, similar system used to align. I decided to drill a hole on the centre line projected up from the leading edge of the vertical stab, where the fibreglass tip is
I then proceeded to drill a hole in my tape measure at the 1" mark, this was attached with a cleco on the hole drilled on the tip, now a measurement to the horizontal stab on left and right sides
to a common point got the V/stab dead vertical. the for and aft measurement was done with a string line as per LES BOURNES instructional DVD, And the attach bracket was drilled and bolted, followed by the upper two bolts on the rear. Job done. .
