After a week long work trip, I was finally able to finish the empennage! I began by removing approximately 1in of skin from the horizontal stabilizer to allow clearance for the elevator counter balances. I then attached the elevators to the horizontal stabilizer and marked the holes for the center bearing. I then removed the elevators, drilled the holes, deburred, and reattached the elevators. The elevators were secured in place and the bolts were tightened. I will save all of the fiberglass work for the end of the project. Now, I just have to wait on the wings... They should be shipped 05/21/2012. Can't wait!
