Today, I began working on the firewall. I fabricated all necessary brackets and cleco'd the assembly together. I then match drilled all holes. I then took the assembly apart and deburred all holes. I then edge finished all of the parts and engraved the part numbers into the pieces. Finally, I dimpled all holes on the firewall.
I also researched firewall sealants. I decided to use a 3M firewall sealant to prevent oil, dust, and fumes from entering the interior of the fuselage. I went to lowes and purchased the sealant so I would be ready for the next work day.
