Brief Description:  Dimpled, primed and began riveting right flap

Today I dimpled the right flap and then primed all of the interior surfaces. Then, it was time to rivet. I was determined not to build another twisted flap, so I took great pains to rivet everything while the flap was weighted down on a flat surface. I did not use the V-jig at all. I started by riveting the ribs to the lower skin. Then, I clecoed everything together, the ribs, the flap spar and the upper skin. Then, I removed the spar to gain access to the interior to buck the rivets into the ribs from the upper skin. I then riveted the interior ribs to the upper skin by weighting down the flap (top side up) and shooting the rivets while reaching inside to buck them (see the photo). Then, I put the camera into my pocket until I needed it for another shot. While going upstairs in the kitchen to get some water during a break, I brushed up against the kitchen counter and fractured the screen of the camera. Great, it is only about a month old. Hopefully, I can sent it back to Nikon to see if it can be repaired. Back to work, I then riveted the inboard outer rib on, because it will be impossible to rivet once the spar and flap actuator bracket are riveted on. Tomorrow night, I will rivet the spar on. I think I will be able to back rivet the upper spar rivets, using shims the same width (3/8") to keep the plane of the flap flat.
