Brief Description:  Road trip to Davidson, NC

The only task I accomplished on the project was to turn the completed left fuel tank over so that proseal would tend to flow (if at all) towards the rear baffle/tank skin joint. It is a good theory. In a few days I will pressure test the tank to see if the theory (and the tank) holds water. My lifelong friend and building buddy, Jim Anderson, was planning to fly from Atlanta to visit his son, John, a freshman at Davidson College in NC. Smelling airtime, I horned in on his flight and flew second in command in his retractable Cessna Cutlass RG. It was a beautiful flight with great viz. We had a bit of a tailwind going north and completed the flight from Peachtree DeKalb airport in Atlanta to Lake Norman Airpark near Mooresville/Davidson, NC in only 1.5 hours. John picked us up at the airport and we all went out to lunch at the Soda Shop (I swear, that is the name) in bustling downtown Davidson. John then gave us the delux tour of Davidson College, including his pristine (?) dorm room, complete with newly bald roomate (a baseball team member who was the willing victim of some sort of spring training ritual, don't ask). We took off from Lake Norman Airpark and Jim graciously let me take the controls back to Atlanta. She is a sweet flying plane. We found smooth air at 6,500' and cruised back home to a happy landing. What a great day. Flights like this will keep my inspiration going to finish the RV.
