Brief Description:  Drilled on forward top skin

Jim Anderson came over after church and we made great progress on the fuselage. First, we drilled and deburred the forward top gussetts. Then, we bent the top of the firewall forward 8 degrees by clamping an aluminum channel to the firewall and then bending the top by hand. Next, we drilled on two curved strips that will support the baggage door. Finally, we hauled the top forward skin out of the shipping box and drilled it on to the firewall and the forward baggage bin bulkhead. It was really exciting to see the top skin clecoed on. We are really making progress. I felt bad that we had to stop because I had to make a meeting at church. Later, a real nice guy named David Lewis came by to see the project. He saw my Kitlog site and shot me an e-mail. I called him and told him that he was welcome to come over. After dinner, he arrived with his wife and a friend of theirs. David is interested in obtaining his pilot's license and building his own plane. He got a chance to drill, debur, dimple and rivet. I think that someday I will see him in the pattern in his own RV. Later, after David and his wife left, I started drilling the instrument panel together.
