Brief Description: Began right console installation
Tonight I began the process of installing the consoles in the cockpit. The left console will hold the throttle quadrant and the right console is usually utilized for switches and circuit breakers. Before installing the consoles themselves, however, I had to drill and cleco the center section bulkhead caps (the silver vertical piece on the left side of the second photo). This part will be installed with pull rivets much later. For now, the are simply drilled and clecoed on. Next, I drilled the parts for the right console. The parts consist of two brackets and the console itself (the blue diagonal part in the second photo). Everything looked great until I pulled the console apart to debur the parts. Then, I discovered that I should have dimpled the support angle that attaches to the cockpit wall before I drilled on the console cover. Now, if I go ahead and dimple the part, it will be about 1/32" too far outboard. Oh well, I can fabricate another angle part tomorrow. C'est la vie.
