When I woke up this morning, I went to inspect the interior pieces I had painted with enamel last night and was horrified to find that all but one of the pieces had terrible alligatoring and cracking of the paint. It was a mess. Later, I went to Ace hardware and spoke with the paint guy. He suggested that I not clean the parts with mineral spirits and that I try very light coats of paint, shot at least 1.5 hours apart. Tonight, I spent a lot of time wiping all of the paint and primer from the footwell section, using MEC. It was a royal pain in the patootie. I then re primed the part. I also took three more angle pieces from the forward baggage bin and gave them a light coat of enamel on both sides. I will try a second coat tomorrow night.
