Brief Description: Finished paint test and drilled arm rests
Today was father's day. I had lunch with my dad and then hit the shop. I finished the paint test by torturing the sample strips with MEK solvent and a ball peen hammer. It looks like the Krylon might be my selection for cockpit paint. I also put three samples in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and all samples fared well. I drilled, deburred and dimpled the arm rests. Drilling the arm rests to the fuselage bulkheads was a little of an adventure because I had to drill under the arm rests where you could not see or comfortably control a drill. I finally got them all drilled out. Now, I will have to prime and paint them. I have also come to a place where I have to paint the interior skins and bulkheads of the cockpit. I guess I will get several more cans of Krylon Pewter.
