Brief Description:  Fabricated rear control column mount and more

Tonight was pretty exciting because I accomplished a good bit. First, I finished fabricating the rear control column mount that Jim Weed and I started last night. Then, I snaked the control column (the part that holds the joy sticks) in through the space in the center section and mounted it to the front and rear mounts. The front mount had been fabricated much earlier with the center section. Once the control column was mated to the mounts, I drilled the rear mount into place, using the spacers set out in the plans. Afterward, the control column swung freely in the mounts, just as it is supposed to. NEAT! Then, I drilled the rear side covers onto the side bulkheads at the aft end of the cockpit. The left cover will hide the flap actuator motor (you can just see it behind the cover in the photo. Finally, I began fabricating the battery tray parts. The battery tray will mount on the firewall.
