Brief Description:  Preparing the forward side skins

Today was Saturday and Bob Zahner, David Rowe (two EAA buddies) and I went to the Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. This is s world class motorcycle museum (that also had some really nice formula cars) located in a "Motorsports Park" with a beautiful road racing course. We had a great time. When I got home, I hit the shop to continue with the fuselage skin prep. I am still working on the forward side skins. I spent most of my time tonight working on the right skin. I removed the blue plastic from the appropriate areas, deburred, smoothed the sides, scuffed the back (to prep for priming) and then began dimpling. The plans are fairly complicated in specifying which holes get dimpled to which size. Some of the holes had to be redrilled to AN3 bolt size (3/16") in accordance with the plans. Skin prep should consume a few weeks of the same drudgery, so there are no photos.
