Brief Description:  Fit auxilliary longeron and doubler

It was a beautiful Saturday in Atlanta. Blue skies and over 70 degrees in January! I had to go into the office to see a client in the morning and then I went to visit my nephew in law (he is married to my neice) in Alpharetta (a north Atlanta suburb) for lunch and to go shooting. We shot my Glock and my AR-15 as well as his FN 5.75X28 pistol and his very tricked out Smith & Wesson AR-15. We blew up enough amunition to liberate a small African country. Later, I went to dinner with Miss Vick and her mom at Longhorn Steakhouse. When I got back home, I was almost in a steak coma. I even changed into my bathrobe, planning to head for bed early. Then, I went down into the basement just to look at the plans for the next step. Well, one thing led to another, and before you know it I had drilled the two auxilliary longerons to the front side skins. Then, I drilled the doubler plates that strengthens the forward fuselage. The right one went on without any trouble. The left doubler plate was a problem, however. The prepunched holes in the doubler did not match up because I had drilled the left side skin aft line too close to the web on the center section bulkhead. CARAMBA! After a little head scratching, however, I simply shaved off about 1/16" from the aft end of the doubler and it fit right in. Miraculously, I still had the requisite edge distance to the rear of the doubler after the shave job. Just goes to show, God protects drunks and fools. When I finished, my bathrobe was full of aluminum shavings, so I had to shake it out vigorously so Miss Vick would not have a coniption. Someday, I will be cruising at about 10,500 MSL and will look down beside my feet at the aux. longerons and will remember that I drilled them out in my bathrobe.
