Brief Description:  Helped install an engine in Jim Anderson's Healey

No work on the plane today. After church, I went over to Jim Anderson's house to help work on his 1966 Austin Healey BJ8 restoration project. Jim purchased the car years ago and it was a real rust bucket. To say that Jim has been doing a "frame off" restoration is an understatement. Jim took the body off the frame and promptly had to cut out and reweld about 30% of the frame itself. Jim's restoration has been meticulous. Today, he let me come over and participate in puting his rebuild engine into the car. We used an engine hoise to lift the enging off the engine stand. We then bolted the flywheel and clutch to the engine and then fitted the transmission to the enging. Last, we lifted then engine and carefully shoehorned it into the chassis. Things got exciting for a minute when an engine hoist part flew off and the engine dropped about 2-3 inches before stopping. Luckily, nothing was dented and we still have all our fingers. Finally, after some cajoling and body english, the stout little engine was nestled into its engine mounts. It was a fun afternoon. I only hope that my plane looks half as good as Jim's Healey.
