I went down in the basement thinking I would install the last rib on the left tank before I realized that I had yet to install the fuel tank vent line. Since I installed the fuel filler tab on the wrong side of the filler flange, I knew that I would have to bend the vent line around the flange instead of it being a fairly straight shot from the rib hole to the tab. The only problem is that I should have installed and bent the vent line before I installed the last outboard rib. Thankfully, the vent line is easy to bend by hand without kinking. It was a sort of a fiddle, but I was able to snake the line in and bend it in the last (outboard) bay before bending the tab to fasten it to the fuel filler flange. I then cut the vent line a little long at the other end. I will have to trim it to final length and then flare it before I can install the last (inboard) rib. I e-mailed Jamie Painter (a 7A builder in our chapter) to see if he still has the EAA chapter 690 flaring tool.
