Brief Description:  Installed nutplates in wing root leading edge

I was in a quandry about how to install the nutplates in the wing root leading edge because the fuel tank root ribs do not come out to the edge of the skin. This leaves an uneven surface for installing the nutplates for the wing root fairings. I posted the question on the Vans Airforce site and someone had the suggestion that I trim out the interfering proseal and then grind down the nutplates so that they would fit outside of the fuel tank root ribs. It worked like a charm. I trimmed the proseal away from the affected areas and then I ground down one side of each nutplate. The fit right in there, so I riveted them in. I will have to buy some single lug dimpled nutplates to finish the whole thing, but at least now I know how to finish them.
