It is finally time to remove the wings from the fuselage. Hopefully, they will go on for the last time in the hanger during final assembly before the first flight. There is still work to do on the wings (fit the wing tips, put nutplates on the wing root skins, etc.) but they will reside in the wing cradle until later. First, I had to remove the wing bolts in preparation for some helpers coming over to remove the wings. As difficult as it was to fit these bolts in upon assembly, it was twice as hard to remove them. Especially the smaller bolts. After using every tool in my arsenal, I was just about to give up. Then, I tried wiggling the wings, just as we did when we installed the bolts. That worked. I had Vicki come down in the shop and elevate the wing tips slightly. That took most of the pressure off of the bolts and them came out. Thank goodness! It took nearly 2 hours to remove those boogers.
