Brief Description:  Fuel lines Finito!

I know, it has been a long time since I logged any work. The usual reasons, work, church, family responsibilities. Also, I have been struggling with the fuel lines. Bending these 3/8" soft aluminum fuel lines without kinking them has been a real adventure. I went through several lines before finally getting a product that looked sufficient. I thought about buying the lines from Bonnaco, but they are heavy and expensive. I still may go that route if these boogers start to leak. Bonnaco sells beautiful teflon coated lines with stainless steel mesh outer covers. For now, we'll see if this works. Next, I will have to fabricate the aileron push tubes and hook up the flaps. It is good to be back on the project. In the other world, outside of the shop, my beloved Cessna 172 Skyhawk (known to my partners and me as, "Princess") suffered an off runway incursion at the hands of a new partner. Although the damage was minimal, Princess suffered a prop strike, necessitating a new prop and an engine rebuild. Since the engine has over 1800 hours (and 40 years) on it, it was time for a rebuild anyway. We ponied up for new pistons and cylinders, as well as a thorough rebuild. Last weekend, we got Princess back and I flew her for over 3 hours, giving young eagle rides. Man, it was good to be back in the cockpit.
