Brief Description:  The Wings Go On!!

This has been a night I will never forget. I called Sam Beale and Jim Weed over to help me lift the fuselage so that I could plug in the gear legs in preparation for fitting the wings later. Both of them were working on their own RVs (Sam is building a 7A and Jim is building a 9A), but they dropped their own projects to come over and help me. It did not take long for the three of us to fit the main gear legs into their sockets and level the fuselage. Then, we started to contemplate actually plugging the wings in. About an hour later, they were in! We fit the left wing first and it went in without too much swearing. The right wing took a little more grunt work and fiddling, but it too ended up in the right slot. Then, Sam drove in some hardware store bolts that had been ground to a point to act as big drift pins. They worked like a charm. I cannot adequately describe how great it felt to see the wings on Miss Vick. It really is starting to look like an actual airplane.
