Tonight I went down to Tranquility Base with the idea that I would start the preparation for installing the wings on the fuselage. After reading the instructions and plans, I got confused. The plans say to mark the bottom of the wings at the root rib where rivets were left out to install screws later. However, the drawings show holes left in the top of the wings, not the bottoms. Confused, I fired off an e-mail to Vans support to get them to resolve this ambiguity. In the meantime, I followed the instructions to slightly bevel the wing spar ends to help them slip into the center section later. I also installed the nutplates for the inspection panels in the bottom of the right wing (something I must have forgotten about when I worked on that wing, over a year ago. After I get the word from Vans about which holes I need to prep for screws, I will do a major cleaning of the shop to get ready for the party I will throw so that all of my friends will come over to help me insert the wings.
