Brief Description:  Finished the Empenage!

I screwed the rod end bearings into the elevator spars, stripped off the last of the blue plastic from the skins and declared the tail officially finished! I know, I still have to fit the elevators to the horizontal stabilizer, drill out the control horns and fit all of the fiberglass tips, but that will be tackled during final assembly. I officially put the empenage components on shelves in sheets and old sleeping bags to keep them warm and safe throughout the winter. Then, I cleaned up the shop (time not included in the build time) and began thinking about how I am going to tackle the wing kit. Jim Anderson is coming over tomorrow to help me move the wing kit into the basement and conduct an inventory.I want to build two wing jigs so that I can build both wings at the same time. I think I know where I can put them (on either side of the center beam in the basement). This is a real milestone. With any luck and some perseverance, I hope to have the wings finished by June and then, hopefully, I can start on the fuselage. If finances hold out, I am going to get the quickbuild fuselage.
