Brief Description: More aft baggage bin work and rivet on the fwd bag
Jim Weed came over tonight and we started by riveting on the bulkheads for the forward baggage bin. I had finished and painted these pieces long ago, but I never riveted them on. This is the bulkhead on which I fabricated an access door so that I can get to the back of the instrument panel from the forward baggage bin. All of the riveting went smoothly and I did not have to drill out even one rivet. I think that is a first for any particular rivet job. Then, Jim and I prepared the aft baggage bin parts that I fabricated last night. We deburred the holes, smoothed the sides, dimpled the holes that will receive flush rivets and then scuffed the surfaces for priming and painting (to be accomplished later). At the end of the evening, we pulled out the rudder pedal assembly parts to see how they fit together. It is always a good idea to visualize how your next work session is going to go before you start. It eases your mind when you are contemplating your next construction step.
