Brief Description:  Finished assembling the forward baggage compartmen

Although it was Sunday, I had to work again. I had a major brief that I want to file on Monday morning. My wonderful paralegal even came in to finish the typing and copy the exhibits for me. After dinner, I went down into the shop to finish up the forward baggage compartment. First, I riveted on all of the nutplates onto the various bulkheads and compartment components. The whole compartment is made to be screwed in so that it can be removed for access to other components later, if needed. For the nutplates in the floor, I enlisted Patrick, home after graduating from college, to help me rivet them in. What you can't see in the first photo is me under the fuselage, bucking the rivets that Patrick if driving. Then, I coaxed all of the pieces into place and screwed in a few screws to hold everything together. It all looks great. The access door came out real nice. Now, of course, I have to take everything apart again. I have to change out one rivet for a flush rivet and I have to trim one panel slightly so that it is 1/8" from the firewall. Then, I will paint the interior of the cockpit with the gray enamel I bought at Ace Hardware.
