Brief Description:  Witnessed Jamie Painter's first engine start

No work on the plane today. Sam Beale and I flew to the Winder airport in his Grumman Tiger to witness Jamie Painter's first engine start in his RV-7A. We arrived about 5pm and helped with the final preparation matters. We put spark plugs in and then pressurized the fuel system to check for leaks. There were a few leaks which were quickly fixed by tightening the offending fittings. Then, Jamie towed the plane onto the ramp, where we tied it down. After about 15 seconds of cranking, she fired to life. Everybody cheered. This was an exciting event. It makes me think that I will be doing this in (hopefully) about a year. After the plane was put back to bed in the hanger, Sam and I flew back to Peachtree DeKalb airport (his home base) where we had a great dinner at the Downwind Restaurant as evening fell.
